Internet-Based Tools
A number of tools have been developed that can help level the playing field for small businesses, and help you get known in your community and around the web. Thanks to these (below) and other web-based tools, your "place of business" no longer has to be restricted to your street or even your town, for that matter, and -- depending on your product or servie -- sales can be taken from all over the country, and possibly the world.
The tools mentioned below can help broaden your scope and create opportunities that would not have been easily considered just a few years ago. KPRS Marketing and Promotion will help you determine which tools are best for your business and help you implement them, if you choose.
- Web Site - essential web presence
- Email - effective companion to web site
- Sequential Follow-up - One of the great levelers for a small business. Allows you to collect contact and follow-up information for potential clients, and communicate with them in a non-instrusive permission-based way. See Newsletter, below.
- Newsletters - a periodic newsletter to your clients and interested parties can serve to keep you in their minds so when I need comes up that you can fulfill, they will think of you. Can be hardcopy or email. See Follow-up Autoresponder, above.
- Blog - a great vehicle for keeping up with your clients and followers. However, can be time consuming and easily becomes "stale" if you don't keep it up.
- Online Registration - If you sponsor or host events that the public can attend, having an online registration tool adds an air of competence and professionalism.
